There are not any non-stop flights from the continental United States to Cordoba at this time, but there are many convenient connection options available through Buenos Aires, or just across the border in Santiago, Chile. Both of these large international airports are less than one hour’s flying time in a commercial jet, from Cordoba.
Our recommendation is that customers who will be flying in and out of the country for Argentina bird hunting only (that is, you will not traveling to Buenos Aires for shopping, fine dining, or sightseeing) make their reservations through Santiago, Chile (SCL). However, for those who do wish to vacation in Buenos Aires before, or after their hunting trip, will obviously book their international flights to Buenos Aires (EZE).
The reason we mention this is important. If you make your connection to Cordoba via Buenos Aires, you must change airports. Since the only flights from Buenos Aires to Cordoba depart from the domestic airport (AEP), this is a more inconvenient option. It requires an hour-long ground transfer across the city. However, this is not an inconvenience for those who would be traveling to Buenos Aires for leisure anyway, because the domestic airport is located downtown, near the tourist areas and hotels.
For those who only wish to hunt, and not visit Buenos Aires—Santiago, Chile (SCL) is by far your best option. Here, you will not have to clear customs and immigration, nor collect—and re-check—your bags. You simply make a connection to your Cordoba flight on LAN Chile (which shares a code with your USA carrier), just as you would at any hub in the USA. Your bags connect through the airlines, and it is as if you never entered the country of Chile.
There is an Admiral’s Club in Santiago, as well as another VIP lounge available to anyone for approximately $15 usd per day. It features: shower facilities, comfortable leather sofas, complimentary drinks, and free wireless internet access.
No matter how you end up arriving in Argentina… From the moment you set foot off the plane, whether in Cordoba, or Buenos Aires (as appropriate for your chosen itinerary) you will receive the royal treatment— personalized attention for every imaginable detail from airport reception, gun entry assistance (if you are bringing your own), to a welcoming by our uniformed bird boys in the field. The Cordoba Argentina standard of quality has no equal, and makes your visit to Cordoba a wingshooting vacation beyond compare.
THE HUNT
Cordoba is the dove hunting capital of the world. The 100 square mile radius (160 km) just around our Argentina dove hunting lodge is annually inhabited by over 40 million doves.
The shooting takes place in the nearby hills, which offer you many different types of shooting scenarios—instead of just crop fields only. The shooting can only be described as fast, and continuous. Motivated shooters can shoot up to four cases of shells per day, just about any day of the year.
The lodge holds 55 shooting fields and foothills for exclusive use. All are located within 45 minutes of the lodge. After each hunt, the lodge donates hundreds of doves to children's charities and public dining rooms in the area.
The day begins at 8:00 AM with a hearty breakfast, followed by a short drive to the shooting fields. Once in the field, the hunting begins at approximately 9:30. Each hunter will be assigned his or her own field assistant, who will have your shooting stand ready, and will continually re-supply you with shotgun shells and refreshments, in order to ensure your dove hunting experience in Cordoba is second to none.
Normally the shooting is situated in a flyway, where the doves are flying to and from their roost to grain fields to feed, or in the foothills, nearby where the doves roost. The doves fly constantly from the time you get into the field, until the time you leave. You will always be supported by your bird buy, and the head guide will check on your regularly, and assist you with anything you might need; he can also offer you some dove hunting tips if you wish.
Around noon we will break for lunch, which will be an old fashioned Argentine asado (barbeque) served in the field, under a large tent. The meal consists of the best grilled meats Argentina has to offer, along with fresh salads, breads, a glass of wine, and dessert.
After the meal, you may take a siesta in one of our hammocks, or go right back out into the dove hunting field and begin pulling the trigger once again. The birds don’t break for lunch, so you can continue dove hunting until almost dark—since we do not end the shoot at any predetermined time.
THE ACCOMMODATIONS
Built on the tradition of over 20 years of dove shooting experience, this Argentina dove hunting lodge is the newest, and most exclusive Argentina dove hunting lodge ever offered in Cordoba.
